Short Biography
Shane Dawson was born on July 19th, 1988, as Shane Lee Yaw. He posted his first online content in 2007 on YouTube when he was in high school. He hit the 2010 Forbes list of top web celebrities, taking the 25th spot. From 2007 to today, he has a long list of accomplishments as a popular young actor. His most recent role has been The Renegade on the TV series, Escape the Night. He is most known for his comedy videos which feature recurring characters he developed himself, including Ned the Nerd, Aunt Hilda, Shananay, and Fruitlupe. He is also known for his celebrity impersonations, including Sarah Palin, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, and Justin Bieber.

Early Life
Shane’s early life was not without challenges, including being abused by an alcoholic father and being abandoned by his mother. He was overweight and his family was poor, so he tended to get bullied.

Facts
In July of 2015, Shane shared that he is bisexual. He also has body dysmorphic disorder, which is a relatively common mental disorder that affects about 2.4% of the population. He won the Best Vlogger category at the 2010 Streamy Awards and Choice Web Star at the Teen Choice Awards in 2010. The next year he was nominated for the Teen Choice Awards but lost to Rebecca Black.

Shane’s mother’s name is Teresa Yaw. He has two brothers, Jacob and Jerid Yaw. Shane used to be in a relationship with fellow YouTuber, Lisa Schwartz. He currently resides in Hollywood, California.
