Music Pulse – Celebrity Stats http://pikastar.com Height, Bio, Facts, Family | Entertainment News Wed, 22 Aug 2018 07:46:38 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Kacy Hill – The next big star in pop music? http://pikastar.com/kacy-hill-the-next-big-star-in-pop-music/ http://pikastar.com/kacy-hill-the-next-big-star-in-pop-music/#respond Fri, 21 Jul 2017 10:49:57 +0000 http://pikastar.com/?p=8782 Kacy Hill is a pop singer born on May 1, 1994, in Phoenix, Arizona. Currently signed to Kanye West’s music label, G.O.O.D, she makes pop music. In her versatility, she produced and directed the video for her song, “Experience” – a track that made West sign her to G.O.O.D music.
Hill got her stage name “Kacy Hill” from her real name “Kacy Anne Hill.” She’s about 5’6’’ (1.68m) tall, and her net worth is estimated to be about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000). Hill owns a dog whose name is Rascal, a pet she doesn’t take for granted. She also has a junior sister who doesn’t get involved in Hill’s social and musical life often.

Kacy Hill Bio

Kacy Hill attended Arizona School of the Arts. Then, she was very good at playing saxophone, oboe, and singing in the choir, but those never made her passionate about music. At 16, she got an internship with a photographer who covered several wedding events. Hill’s burning desire for modeling started at this time. Later on, she made her way to the front of the camera from assisting in handling cameras.

With intentions to further her education still alive, Hill deemed it fit to take some time off and left from Los Angeles. At LA, she scaled up her modeling career and got signed to M Model Management in West Hollywood and suddenly emerged the face of American Apparel. Her modeling career soared high as she joined Kanye West’s Yeezus tour. The Yeezus show was a keystone to her success – she was among the faceless women that danced and held Kanye West up to the skies during the Yeezus show.

In 2014, Hill dropped her debut nonalbum single titled “Experience,” during the time the tour – Yeezus kicked off. She never felt passionate about it but had to take it up. Kanye West signed Hill to G.O.O.D music in Atlantic City after his show – this was coming after West went through a copy of her nonalbum single.

Talking about fame, Hill was fast rising quickly, taking good spots in some charts and list that went viral. Digital Spy addressed her single as a track worth hearing.

Kacy hills own to her credits several tracks such as “Foreign Fields” which was released in 2015 and Bloo, also released in 2015. Recently, Kacy hills dropped her first album titled “Like a woman” under West’s record label. G.O.O.D music. The album contains several tracks that are sure to keep you meditating and lost in euphoria. Some of the tracks are Hard to Love, Say You’re Wrong, Clarity, Keep Me Sane, a song she released in 2016 titled Lion and some other mind-blowing tracks.

The recent album “Like a Woman,” gives many the impressions that she’s the next big thing to happen to pop music. The video was lit although some detest the sexuality that characterizes the video. In the video, she oiled up herself, dressed in lingerie and making moves. The lyrics were so dear to heart and loving, but you can’t dance to any of the tracks in Hill’s new album. One of her tracks, Clarity ironically describes the dense world where some look down on pop.

While Hill claims that she just released her album in a bid to explore her sexuality, it may be more beneficial to the world and the fans listening if she could look into the sound more. However, Hill is fast rising, considering when she came into the game. Perhaps, she might be the next most celebrated pop star.

Get to know DeQn Sue http://pikastar.com/get-to-know-deqn-sue/ http://pikastar.com/get-to-know-deqn-sue/#respond Wed, 19 Jul 2017 00:34:50 +0000 http://pikastar.com/?p=8775 DeQn Sue is an artist from Los Angeles, California USA who defines her music as an alternative pop which is socially conscious. Wondering how the name DeQn Sue came to be? You’re not alone. Here’s it; her stage name is a blend of the character name which her father made trendy on the old TV series S.W.A.T – David Deacon Kay and her mother’s name. Adding more spice to the ‘Deacon’ and her mother’s initial name, the alternative pop singer got her stage name. Sue fell in love with music at a young age.

DeQn Sue

DeQn professes her love for music, pointing out that she wants to create good music that lasts, and she has never relented in this pursuit. Her debut album was titled ‘ Zeitgeist’ which reflects her unique style of music. Zeitgeist was produced by Kelvin Wooten who was nominated for the Grammy awards. And the songs in the album include Bloody Monster, Magenta, and Flame. In fact, the album featured perfect blends of jazz, pop, gospel, funk, hip hop, R&B as well rock.

It was uncovered that the track Bloody Monster off her first album was a melodious one she penned down after being a victim of racism. Her roommate displayed the racism act against her on several occasions, and this inspired her to write the song.
Deqn’s music career – How it all started.

Magenta is one of the outstanding tracks in DeQn’sfirst album. She said that breaking down her music reveals many genres of mixes. Speaking on what actually nurtured her melodious voice and her love for music, DeQn attributed that to her parents, giving many accolades to her mother who would always take her to church and urged her to sing. Likewise, her father taught her piano lessons and the basics of vocals – these gave her a deep insight of music.

It dawned on her that she wants to be an artist after her father performed an inspiring gospel song ‘Precious Lord.’ Despite the discouragement from peers that tried to pull her visions down, DeQn was bent on achieving something that makes her proud even when she looks back at it in the next 20 years.

Undoubtedly, music can make anyone grow versatile; the Los Angeles native blended her style with the Southern thingy. She schooled at Oakwood University in Huntsville. There she got entangled with The Aeolians; a choral ensemble that has won the Grammy as well took the first place on NBC’s program – The Sing-Off, season 2.

DeQn’s love for Huntsville doesn’t stem from her alma-matter alone; she just loves Huntsville as her feels better making music there. Despite where she stays, her songs remain what listeners across the world would enjoy.

The Los Angeles native has several tracks to her credits – Aspire, Calimazoo, Glass, Unicorn and the new track Hunny which comes with a feeling of love and emotions. Here’s a line “I spy a couple or 2 and miss you hunny, where are you hunny?’

Messy is another track by DeQn Sue which she addresses as “donut #6.” Messy is a track released a few weeks ago; it shows off DeQn Sue’s eccentric pop sensibilities.

In an interview, DeQn revealed that she would like collaboration with 3000 because he’s honest and real to his art. She added that his energy is felt in his music. When asked what moves her, she pointedly said that beautiful places, beautiful people, things and life itself move her. She pointed out her musical influences after saying it’s a really hard thing to say. DeQn finally stated that she’s inspired by all things in everyday life, but she likes it most when she sits at a bus stop watching people and their behaviors.

DeQn is a promising artist with a whole lot of yet to be harnessed potentials. Get to know who she is and what type of music she does as she promises to churn out more thrilling tracks for the world to listen and enjoy.

Likewise, any person going for a festival hopes to get the best of swashbuckling experience. Having a talented artist who can warm up the crowd makes such event a successful one.

Georgette Adjie Beighle 2

One of the Africa’s talented dancer/singer Georgette Adjie Beighle with her dance band SINGO Dance Band is a fast-rising female sensational singer, who combines dance blends of different cultures to thrill her fans. Georgette was born in a village in Cameroun, West Africa. Despite her injured leg, she had a great passion for traditional dances; she danced for the traditional leaders and at various local events. Georgette later moved to Brattleboro where she lived with her husband and expanded her music career. When you talk about making good African music that portrays various culture while conveying the desired message, then you may not fail to talk about Georgette Adjie Beighle and her SINGO dance band.

Of course, a lot of festivals, events and shows have gone down impressively, with many good performances, but it would mean a whole lot to add more spice to the upcoming festivals with young talents in the music scene. Think about this; numerous artists have written their names in the sands of time with their outstanding performances and musical activities, but some others who are much talented but are yet to hit the limelight abound. Georgette Adjie Beighle is an artist that can turn the crowd on with her unique performances.

Georgette Adjie Beighle 3

When people from different walks of life meet at a show, event or festival, they just need to get the best experience, and this can only be a historical event if there are exciting performances by real artists. That is why each and every event must be designed to be lit and leave people with memories to reminisce. Georgette expresses her happiness while dancing by up turning her palms while her elbows rotate invitingly.

Nobody would cheerfully work with an artist who is naïve; this is why Georgette stands out to suit your choice of performing artists at summer festivals and other occasions as an experienced and versatile artist. Through off-road, she has a scale and before she becomes a famous artist who gives the fans what they need. Georgette Adgi Beighle is a versatile artist who went far in deepening and understanding various African cultures and finally arrived with her African style. Georgette founded the Singo Dance Company where she tutored several dancers who are gaining strength in their fields now, and this shows how much talent and creativity she has as well can empower.

Despacito (Remix)

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee
Featuring Justin Bieber
Produced by Josh Gudwin, Mauricio Rengífo & Andrés Torres

“Despacito” is described as being about a “sexual but romantic relationship between two people. The Spanish word “despacito” translates to “slowly”—which indicates the romance in the relationship.” – Rap Genius. It is a remix of the popular Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee track “Despacito”.

Lyrics:

[Intro: Justin Bieber]
Comin’ over in my direction
So thankful for that, it’s such a blessin’, yeah
Turn every situation into heaven, yeah
Oh-oh, you are
My sunrise on the darkest day
Got me feelin’ some kind of way
Make me wanna savor every moment slowly, slowly
You fit me tailor-made, love how you put it on
Got the only key, know how to turn it on
The way you nibble on my ear, the only words I wanna hear
Baby, take it slow so we can last long

[Verse 1: Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee]
¡Oh!

[Coro: Justin Bieber & Luis Fonsi / Daddy Yankee]
Despacito
Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito
Deja que te diga cosas al oído
Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo
Despacito
Quiero desnudarte a besos despacito
Firmo en las paredes de tu laberinto
Y hacer de tu cuerpo todo un manuscrito
(Sube, sube, sube
Sube, sube)

[Bridge 1: Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee]
Quiero ver bailar tu pelo, quiero ser tu ritmo (woah, woah)
Que le enseñes a mi boca (woah, woah)
Tus lugares favoritos (favorito, favorito, baby)
Déjame sobrepasar tus zonas de peligro (woah, woah)
Hasta provocar tus gritos (woah, woah)
Y que olvides tu apellido

[Verse 2: Daddy Yankee]
Quiero, quiero, quiero ver cuánto amor a ti te cabe
Yo no tengo prisa, yo me quiero dar el viaje
Empecemos lento, después salvaje

[Bridge 2: Daddy Yankee & Justin Bieber / Daddy Yankee]
Pasito a pasito, suave suavecito
Nos vamos pegando, poquito a poquito
Cuando tú me besas con esa destreza
Veo que eres malicia con delicadeza
Pasito a pasito, suave suavecito
Nos vamos pegando, poquito a poquito
Y es que esa belleza es un rompecabezas
Pero pa’ montarlo aquí tengo la pieza
¡Oye!

[Coro: Justin Bieber & Luis Fonsi / Daddy Yankee]
Despacito
Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito
Deja que te diga cosas al oído
Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo
Despacito
Quiero desnudarte a besos despacito
Firmo en las paredes de tu laberinto
Y hacer de tu cuerpo todo un manuscrito
(Sube, sube, sube
Sube, sube)

[Bridge 1: Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee]
Quiero ver bailar tu pelo, quiero ser tu ritmo (woah, woah)
Que le enseñes a mi boca (woah, woah)
Tus lugares favoritos (favorito, favorito, baby)
Déjame sobrepasar tus zonas de peligro (woah, woah)
Hasta provocar tus gritos (woah, woah)
Y que olvides tu apellido

[Verse 3: Luis Fonsi]
Despacito
This is how we do it down in Puerto Rico
I just wanna hear you screaming, “¡Ay, Bendito!”
I can move forever cuando esté contigo
¡Bailalo!

[Bridge 3: Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi & Justin Bieber]
Pasito a pasito, suave suavecito
Nos vamos pegando, poquito a poquito
Que le enseñes a mi boca
Tus lugares favoritos
(Favorito, favorito, baby)
Pasito a pasito, suave suavecito
Nos vamos pegando, poquito a poquito
Hasta provocar tus gritos (Fonsi)
Y que olvides tu apellido (D.Y.)
Despacito

Andy Biersack Has A Lot Going On! Can You Keep Up? http://pikastar.com/andy-biersack-has-a-lot-going-on-can-you-keep-up/ http://pikastar.com/andy-biersack-has-a-lot-going-on-can-you-keep-up/#respond Fri, 06 May 2016 23:46:17 +0000 http://pikastar.com/?p=5229 The front man of the sensational metal band Black Veil Brides has a lot happening right now. He recently played his first solo show as performer Andy Black, he married his long time girlfriend Juliet Simms, and his album has just hit Spotify. How does he have the time?

Andy Biersack solo album

Andy Black, better known as Andy Biersack, initially announced he was starting his own solo career back in May 2014. He made it clear this new project wasn’t going to be his main focus. He just wanted to take his own direction as an entity separate from Black Veil Brides. His first song was called “They Don’t Need To Understand”. The music video streamed first through the alternative style clothing company, Hot Topic. The track left fans wanting more, but Andy was focused on finishing the self-titled Black Veil Brides album that hit stores in October of that year. On March 17, 2016, Andy announced that his first solo album, “The Shadow Side” was going to hit stores on May 6. The following day, he gave a preview of the album by releasing a song called “We Don’t Have to Dance”. The album featured the same producer as Black Veil Brides, John Feldmann.

The album, which has just been released, has not disappointed the long-awaiting fans! As promised, “The Shadow Side” doesn’t sound anything like Black Veil Brides, and has it’s own completely unique sound. Andy has taken to finding his own voice, outside of his band, and it’s amazing. The album is tentatively only being released digitally through iTunes and similar vendors (although limited copies of the album have been made in print). It features a track co-written with Gerard Way (former singer of My Chemical Romance, and writer of The Umbrella Academy comic series), and bass riffs by Mikey Way (former bassist of My Chemical Romance, and currently part of the duo Electric Century) called “Louder Than Your Love”. Andy played his first solo show, as Andy Black, only two days ago on a stage in Los Angeles, California. He’s set to start touring the United Kingdom on May 10. The North American tour stars just after on May 23.

Last month, it was rumored the musician had married his long time girlfriend, Juilet Simms. The ceremony was held on April 16, 2016 in front of friends and family. The couple has now gone on record saying they were married a long time ago. The second ceremony was held as a sort of hoax for the internet. Whether it was fake or real, the pictures from the ceremony were absolutely beautiful. They both looked so happy, and that’s really all that matters. It’s also good to see that even with Andy’s busy and busier schedule, he can find the time to have a little fun.

So what does the future have in store for Andy Black? He says he’d like to go back to making music as Black Veil Brides as soon as he finishes with the Andy Black solo project.

These 9 One Hit Wonders Prove The Rap Game Is Tough http://pikastar.com/these-9-one-hit-wonders-prove-the-rap-game-is-tough/ http://pikastar.com/these-9-one-hit-wonders-prove-the-rap-game-is-tough/#respond Mon, 31 Aug 2015 10:45:02 +0000 http://pikastar.com/?p=2027 HIP HOP one hit wonders rapper

For every hip-hop megastar that reaches the promised land of rap gods there are literally hundreds of wannabes who had careers that were cut short. And those guys are the lucky ones.

Everybody knows somebody who is trying to make it the rap game and the sad truth for many of those guys is that they simply won’t get off the ground. The ‘in betweeners’ of the hip-hop world are the stars that just barely made it only to have their careers flare out like a flash in the pan.

These one hit wonders shouldn’t hang their heads in shame from the losers’ lounge however, many of them challenged what many people saw as the hip-hop establishment and opened the door for many new fans.

This is their story.

9. Shade Sheist feat. Nate Dogg and Kurupt

The year 2000 saw the hit single “Where I Wanna Be” come straight out of left field. It hit the charts and stayed at the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles for four weeks.

While Nate Dogg went on to bigger and better things, Sheist fizzled out. His next release in 2002 couldn’t match the momentum and popularity that “Where I Wanna Be” had generated and his career faded into the background.

8. Foxx

The 2007 hit “Wipe me Down” brought the Trill Entertainment label’s top-of-the-line players into the limelight. Foxx wasn’t the only star on the powerhouse album: Survival of the Fittest also featured Webbie and Lil’ Boosie.

Boosie’s career was cut short due to a run in with the law relating to a murder charge and some drug charges. Webbie fell off the face of the earth, and Foxx—despite numerous efforts—never recaptured the ear of the public again.

7. Bone Crusher

“Never Scared” and the album of the same title were highly anticipated releases from 2003. Hot out of the Atlanta scene Bone Crusher was gearing up to take the hip-hop world by storm—if the hype was to be believed that is.

Though the album and its title track enjoyed quite a bit of praise and air time it kind of just faded away and Bone Crusher with it.

6. 95 South

“Whoot There It Is” from 1993 is a throwback to the days when Miami sound were exploding into the collective consciousness of many fans of the genre. Much to the chagrin of 95 South a very similar Miami beat came out a few months later from Tag Team entitled “Whoomp! (There It Is)”.

The latter of the two is still played and has accumulated massive acclaim while the former has faded into anonymity. Such is life in the rap game.

The story doesn’t end there however, C.C. Lemonhead and Jay Ski the producers of “Whoot There It Is” did see some later success as the 69 Boyz.

5. Playaz Circle

“Duffle Bag Boy” featuring Lil Wayne from 2007 was the go-to hit from Supply & Demand, an album from Luda’s DTP crew. Playaz Circle was composed of Dolla Boy and 2 Chainz, though at that time he was known as Tity Boi.

The album itself didn’t garner much attention but “Duffle Bag Boy” had some staying power that year. Tity Boi reimagined himself as 2 Chainz and the rest is history though the Playaz Circle dissolved and faded into memory.

4. Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz

The fast to fade hit “Déjà vu (Uptown Baby)” from 1997 proved to be the only notable release from the group. With a main groove that was essentially a Steely Dan song (“Black Cow”) this song didn’t last too long.

While Peter Gunz may have been low impact, Cory Gunz (several years later) would be getting his “6-foot 7-foot” on with Lil Wayne.

3. Camp Lo

Also from 1997 the single “Luchini AKA This Is It” relied heavily on the beat produced by an early Jay-Z collaborator Ski. While Ski went on to produce bigger and better things (which have by no means faded today) Camp Lo held on to “Luchini” which is remembered as their only hit.

2. DJ Kool

1996’s “Let Me Clear My Throat” became one of the best known party songs to date. Recorded live at the Bahama Bay Club in Philly it includes DJ Kool rapping over Mark and the 45 King’s “900 Number”.

A fantastic song in its own right, it didn’t have the needed staying power to make DJ Kool into a mega star and his other work has since faded from the public eye.

1. Audio Two

This one is a real throwback. “Top Billin’” from 1987 is a true hustler’s anthem. While few people can name other releases from Audio Two but true fans of the genre know every word o this track by heart.

This song was truly premonitory and groundbreaking though. It paved the way for later successes of rap mega stars and served as a marker post along the long path that contemporary hip-hop has taken.

Alessia Cara Meet The Woman Behind That Beautiful Voice http://pikastar.com/alessia-cara-meet-the-woman-behind-that-beautiful-voice/ http://pikastar.com/alessia-cara-meet-the-woman-behind-that-beautiful-voice/#respond Fri, 07 Aug 2015 13:26:22 +0000 http://pikastar.com/?p=1398 It seems as if every year there’s a hot, new artist whose music is taking over the airwaves and being blasted through the car speakers of millennials. Some of these artists are genuinely talented, while others are expected to only be one hit wonders. Of all the stars who have popped up on the music scene in 2015, very few have had what it takes to wow listeners and gain recognition internationally. While others have failed to make the cut and stay relevant, Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara is proving that she has serious plans to stick around.

Alessia Cara bio stats 2

Music lovers have probably heard her name being dropped by fans of hers, but have yet to really find out who this Alessia Cara person is or what makes her stand out in a very large sea of young, talented artists. Before Cara was on stage serenading fans with her unique, jazz-like voice, listeners could tune into her YouTube page, which she started when she just 13-years-old, and listen to her covering songs by various artists. She has covered songs by the late Amy Winehouse, The Neighbourhood and Justin Bieber, who is also from Canada.

Following her discovery, Cara signed to Def Jam and made her world musical debut when she released her single “Here” in spring this year. Touching on the topic of partying, but not truly enjoying the experience, Cara took a queue from her musical influences, Ed Sheeran and Amy Winehouse, choosing to dig deep and write a song that many people her age could relate to, but also sharing her honest opinion on the matter. Not only has the track gotten attention from Cosmopolitan, Spin Magazine and Complex, but it made Billboard’s list for “20 Pop Songs You Need For Your Summer Playlist,” which is a big accomplishment for a new artist.

So, what’s next for Alessia Cara? She may have only released one single, but she isn’t stopping there. The 19-year-old is currently on tour, stopping in various cities around the U.S. and even making her way across the pond to perform in London. More recently she made her television debut when she performed “Here” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. With Cara garnering attention from audiences of all ages, many people may be anticipating the release of her forthcoming studio album Four Pink Walls, which is due out at the end of August.

Even though only time will tell if Alessia Cara will continue to make hits, at this point in time it can be said that Cara is making waves and turning heads with her talent and versatility. She may be young, but her words are real and powerful, which is something that is a rarity from someone in her demographic. With her voice being a combination pleasant, sweet and soulful, and often being compared to that of Lorde, Cara may become a force to be reckoned with if she proves herself to the world. Until the album drops, people can check out the video for “Here” and past covers Cara has done on YouTube.

Andra Day and Her Music http://pikastar.com/andra-day-and-her-music/ http://pikastar.com/andra-day-and-her-music/#respond Fri, 07 Aug 2015 13:17:38 +0000 http://pikastar.com/?p=1395 Conquering the world of jazz is something that not everyone has the ability to do. However, newcomer Andra Day has channeled her inner Nina Simone and Billie Holiday to help her rise to the occasion and keep jazz alive. There are many who have yet to even hear her name or know her story, but once they listen to her music, there’s a chance they may be hooked like the rest.

Much like most of the artists who have hit the scene in recent years, Day used YouTube to share her gift with the world. Using her page to create mash-ups featuring a number of hit songs including Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine and Momma Knows Best by Jessie J, she got people talking. While those videos drew in a large crowd, the 30-year-old attracted 900,000 views worth of attention when she posted her cover of rapper Eminem’s song “Lose Yourself.”

She may have gotten a lot of attention for her online videos, but Day’s story about how she came to be signed to Warner Brothers Records is equally, if not more interesting than her music and is not like those of many artists around. Before Day’s name was in the mouth of jazz lovers all over, she was called upon by Stevie Wonder after his wife shared her music to him. Following the two meeting, Wonder introduced her to Adrian Gurvitz who would give Day the chance of the lifetime: a record deal.

Since that day, the singer has been working hard to get her first studio album completed, all the while booking performances, like the 2015 BET Awards and Essence Fest 2015. Day is no stranger to performing and entertaining a crowd. As a graduate from San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, she knows how to grab and hold the attention of an audience. What makes Andra Day so unique is her style and voice. Many have tried to mimic the sound of past jazz and blues singers, but have failed. Day has both the vintage style and voice down, seen frequently rocking a pompadour hairstyle and belting out powerful lyrics to her single “Forever Mine” with her soulful, raspy voice.

At this point in time, Day does not have a tour scheduled following the release of her debut album Cheers to the Fall, which is due out at the end of August of this year. Day’s story of how she came to be known and her powerful voice are reason enough for people to check her out. People are discovered every day, but not many are discovered by the great Stevie Wonder.

It should speak volumes that such an iconic talent has wanted to invest time in Day and help her grow as an artist. The two have yet to make a song, but if they did, it would surely be great. Until that day comes, Andra Day will have to keep getting the attention of the people on her own, which is something that she’s proven she can handle.
