Mark Fischbach

Short Biography
Mark Fischbach was born on June 28th, 1989. He is most known for his online YouTube personality, Markiplier. He is a voice over artist and is currently located in Los Angeles. His style of extreme vocalization has caught on with fans, including all his cursing, shouting, and sometimes crying. He is particular adored for his alter ego, Wilford Warfstache who sports a pink mustache. He goes out to meet fans regularly, taking part in ComicCon, PAX, and VidCon. Mark participated in Smosh: The Movie in 2015 and has appeared on episodes of Grumpcade, Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! among others. Going forward, Mark is looking to have his own line of comic books.

Early Life
Mark originally had plans to become a biomedical engineer and attended the University of Cincinnati for that purpose. However, the lure of a YouTube career, where he did video and indie game gameplay commentary, had him change gears. Past employments have included carpentry and bartending. In school, he had the nickname Markle Sparkles, after an incident where he put glitter in his hair.

Facts
Mark is an active philanthropist using live streams to support various charities, including Best Friends Animal Society, the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Mark was diagnosed with ADHD.

Personal and Family Life
Mark’s German father served at the military base in Hawaii where he met Mark’s mother, who is of Korean descent and is a nurse. Later the family moved to Cincinnati where Mark first began his career before relocating to Los Angeles. He has one brother, Jason Thomas Fischbach. In 2015, Mark was hospitalized for a minor heart attack where he learned that his body lacks the enzyme to properly break down alcohol. As a result, Mark has chosen to abstain.

Friends and Associates
Mark has two lifelong friends, Marcus Richard and Myles Markle. He is dating Amy Nelson, an animator, and graphic designer. His dog Chica is often included in his posts.
